PhD Researcher @ RPTU / DFKI
I'm a PhD researcher at RPTU / DFKI working on explainable and privacy-preserving deep learning for document intelligence — 15+ publications spanning diffusion models, differential privacy, and interpretability. I open-source most of what I build, including TorchXAI for model explainability and Atria for end-to-end document AI experimentation.
Before my PhD, I built reinforcement learning pipelines for mobile robotics and UAV systems at the National Center of Artificial Intelligence (NCAI), Pakistan, along with real-time edge solutions for AI-driven business applications. I also led NUST's RoboCup SPL team — the first team from Pakistan to compete in the league — building the software stack behind fully autonomous humanoid soccer gameplay: motion planning, control, perception, and multi-agent coordination.
Outside of work, I'm usually gaming, watching anime, or hanging out with friends on Discord.
